24-hour home care

There are many different forms of around-the-clock home care available. We’d like to help clarify the differences between two of the most common: 24-hour home care and live-in home care.

What is Around-the-Clock Care?

Home care looks different for every family. We understand that a lot of people want to age in the comfort of their own homes. Our around-the-clock home care can help you do just that. It is designed for those who need extra support. Whether that’s through a team of Caregivers providing care at every hour of the day, or a Caregiver living in the home with the client.

24-Hour Care

24-hour home care is exactly what it sounds like. A team of Griswold Caregivers works together to provide care for you or your loved one. This ensures there is always an awake Caregiver at the home ready to assist if needed. This is a great option when full-time care is desired, but you may not want someone else living in the home. This may be desirable for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other chronic conditions where someone is needed at all times.

Live-in Care

Live-in home care is when a Caregiver lives in the client’s home and provides care to the client while they are awake. The Caregiver will have their own room and dedicated time off from caregiving duties each day.

What Are the Differences?

One main difference is having a Caregiver live with the client (live-in care) compared to a team of Caregivers working in shifts that come and go throughout each day (24-hour home care). Another difference is having care available at all times, day and night (24-hour home care), compared to care for most of the day (live-in care).

Does Griswold Offer Both?

We currently offer 24-hour home care services, but not live-in care.
