Are you a Veteran in Baton Rouge?
You may be eligible for specialized home care benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Many Veterans and their families in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, including Gonzales, Prairieville, Zachary, Baker, and Rosedale, may be unaware of the valuable VA benefits available to help cover the cost of home care. The Community Care Network (CCN), in particular, enables Veterans to access high-quality care at home from providers such as Griswold.
At Griswold Home Care for Baton Rouge, we provide non-medical home care services for seniors. Our experienced team is committed to guiding local Veterans and their families through every step of the VA benefits process. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is a federal organization that supports Veterans and provides health benefits. Our office has extensive experience working with the VA, making the process smoother for local families. Whether you need help with daily activities, companionship, or respite for family Caregivers, we ensure Veterans receive the care they deserve in the comfort of their own home.
If you’re ready to explore your options, we’ll provide the resources and support to make the process simple. Read on to discover which VA benefits may be available for you or your loved one.
VA Benefits You May Be Eligible For
Community Care Network (CCN): This benefit connects eligible Veterans to healthcare and home care services. With CCN, Veterans can choose Griswold for their care, and the VA pays us directly, making the process easy and affordable.
CCN is available to Veterans with a service-connected disability, covering a wide range of conditions, from hearing loss to major injuries. This benefit is exclusive to Veterans (not spouses), and eligibility is based on disability rating, not income or assets.
Respite Care Program: This benefit covers the cost of a Caregiver visiting a Veteran’s home or allows the Veteran to participate in an adult day care program while their family Caregiver rests or handles personal errands. Respite care offers relief for family members and guarantees the Veteran continues to receive dependable, high-quality care at home.
VA Pensions: This benefit is available to wartime Veterans and their spouses or surviving family members who meet specific service, income, and asset qualifications. VA pensions can help pay for non-medical home care services, supporting Veterans in remaining safe and independent in their own homes for as long as possible.
Aid & Attendance: This is an additional benefit that can be added to a VA Pension or Survivors Pension for Veterans who meet specific medical, service, and financial requirements. To qualify for Aid & Attendance, the Veteran must already be eligible for a VA Pension. Many Veterans can combine Aid & Attendance with the Community Care Network to access even more comprehensive and flexible care solutions at home.
