How to Pay for In-Home Care
Category:
Did you know there are other ways to pay for home care that can help lessen the financial burden for you?
Paying for home care can seem daunting. The good news is that there are several ways to pay that, if eligible, won’t cost you a dime. The many different options to pay for home care range from out-of-pocket, LTCi, the VA, and public grants. Read on to learn more about the many options that could be available to you.
Long-term Care Insurance (LTCi)
Long-term care insurance is a type of private insurance policy designed to pay for services to support those with chronic illnesses and disabilities. LTCi can cover the services we offer here at Griswold Home Care, like those that support dressing and toileting, as well as other activities of daily living. Some policies may cover respite care, which provides temporary relief for your family’s primary caregiver. This is something that you would have needed to have purchased in advance. Keeping in mind that you may need long-term care in the future.
Veterans Administration
To support our community, the US Department of Veterans Affairs provides many care services free of charge or at minimal cost for veterans. However, many veterans are unaware of their VA benefits or how to access them. Griswold staff can help cut the red tape, access the right information, and ensure your loved ones receive their deserved benefits. We are also proud to be a VA-accredited home care provider. The VA can approve a certain number of hours of care per week for eligible veterans. This can range from short respite care visits to several hours of care throughout the week.
Grants Available for Those with ALS in Scottsdale
There are many grants available to those in need of home care. Specifically, those with ALS and their families who need help covering the costs associated with their diagnosis. Grants may help cover the costs of communication devices, medical expenses, home modifications, home care, transportation needs, and respite care. See below for local grants that you may qualify for:
