Owner
Hao Sun, MD brings an exceptional level of professional expertise and deep personal purpose to Griswold Home Care for San Mateo. After earning his undergraduate degree from Harvard and his MD from Rutgers, Hao spent more than a decade driving innovation in the digital health sector. His entire career has been dedicated to improving healthcare, but his true calling into the home care field was sparked by a challenge close to home.
When Hao’s own grandparents began requiring daily assistance, his family faced the stressful reality of how difficult it was to find reliable, trustworthy Caregivers. That personal journey revealed a critical gap in senior care. It became clear to Hao that the most meaningful impact he could make was on a local level.
Now a resident of San Carlos, Hao established his Griswold office to ensure other Peninsula families wouldn't have to navigate that same uncertainty. By combining his rigorous training with the empathy of someone who has been in the client's shoes, Hao delivers a highly organized, dependable, and deeply respectful standard of care that allows local families to Live Assured.

Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations while navigating the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis and life as a wheelchair user. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.

Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
