Meet Your Team
Jennifer Murata
President & CEO
Aloha! I am privileged to be the President of Griswold Home Care for Oahu, a leading home care provider that celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2022 and honors the name of its founder, Jean Griswold.
As a fourth generation kama’aina, I was lucky to grow up in Moanalua near both sets of my grandparents and our large extended families. My oji chan & oba chan and kung kung & nainai (grandparents) along with my parents, instilled the importance of ‘ohana (family), respect for our kupuna (elders), and the values of hard work, education, integrity, and humility. These values and family life shaped me into the person I am today and is the catalyst for my deep interest in home care. Having experienced firsthand caring for a family member (my disabled sister) and seeing my grandparents and now my parents navigate their golden years, I understand how challenging it can be for families to provide care for another family member.
Our experienced caregivers receive first-class training and support. They, along with our amazing team of office staff, are here to help individuals and families better manage their family’s changing and increased needs.
On a more personal note, I live in Nuuanu with my husband, Lance, our teenage daughter, our sweet 17-year-old mini dachshund, and two feisty budgies. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, eating, hiking (to offset my eating), weeding, and listening to audio books.
I hope you give us the opportunity to serve you. To learn more about our services, or join our team of caregivers, please give us a call at (808) 539-1700.

Contact UsJean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
