Senior Transportation Service: IVCG RIDES (Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers / CareNewHaven) offers transportation services specifically for seniors and persons with disabilities in New Haven. Anyone who is 60 years or older, regardless of income, who lives in the service area, is able to register for IVCG RIDES (non-emergency medical transportation). Volunteers provide most of our rides (with a few supported by staff as “back-up”). Personal vehicles are utilized, and volunteers pay their own expenses. They accept ride bookings every weekday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. IVCG RIDES | InterfaithVolunteers.
The Mary Wade Transportation Program provides free, door-to-door, handicapped-accessible van transportation for seniors age 60 and older in the Greater New Haven, Connecticut, area, enabling them to attend medical, dental, social, and shopping appointments. The program is donation-based and serves individuals who are low-income, unable to afford taxis or public transportation, or otherwise ineligible for Connecticut’s non-emergency Medicaid transportation program.
