Michael Gibson
Director
Michael Gibson is the Owner and Director of the local Griswold Home Care Mesquite-Dallas-Waxahachie office in Texas. During a successful 25-year career in senior management roles for a major big box retailer and a leader in the restaurant industry, Michael would often imagine opening his own business. He made the conscious decision to leave the corporate world and fully research where he could go from there.
During the last few years, Michael and his wife Lori had been dealing with the declining health of a loved one. Faced with unfamiliar options in the area of home care versus assisted facility living, they experienced first-hand the difference in a person’s attitude and demeanor when able to remain in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of his/her own home.
After finding Griswold Home Care and already knowing the impact this type of care can make to those in need, Michael knew this was where he belonged. The mission and culture of the 30-year-old company are a perfect fit. Michael’s many years of customer relations make him excited to refer caregivers to provide the superior level of care and support the Griswold name is known for.
Michael would love the opportunity to talk to you in more detail about your service needs and desires for personal care, homemaking, and companionship services, as well as incidental transportation/accompaniment.
Michael and Lori have been married for 26 years, have a son, and currently reside in the Mesquite community. Michael and Lori are both natives of Mesquite, Texas. Lori has served on a non-profit board in the community for over 3 years, and their family is involved in several volunteer organizations, including the Portable Pantry Program they have established in the Mesquite area.
Michelle Utley
Director of Operations
Hi, I’m Michelle Utley. I grew up in Mesquite, Texas, and have been married to my best friend, Josh, for 16 wonderful years. We have two beautiful daughters, Savannah (17) and Brooklyn (8), and you’ll often find us at the ball fields cheering them on as they play softball. As a family, we love to have fun and make the most of every moment together.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether I’m planting succulents, planning events, decorating spaces, or traveling to new places. Creating something beautiful—inside or out—is one of my favorite ways to express myself.
My greatest passion, however, is working with seniors. I’ve been in the senior care industry for over 12 years, and it truly feels like a calling. I met my colleague Mike while working in assisted living, and that experience helped shape the path I’m on today. For the past 8 years, I’ve proudly served as the Director of Operations with Griswold Home Care. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every client we serve is cared for with compassion, dignity, and respect. The relationships I’ve built and the memories I carry with those I’ve served will stay with me forever.
At the end of the day, I’m here to serve. My goal is to support families and provide peace of mind by being an extension of care for their loved ones. Griswold Home Care is more than a service—it’s family. I look forward to helping in any way I can.

I’m Trisha Hitzfeld-Hutchings. I’m married to the love of my life, Miles, and we have a spunky nine-year-old, Teigan, who keeps us on our toes—and another little blessing on the way. Family is everything to me, and I carry that same mindset into the work I do every single day.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family. My husband and I love getting outdoors together—whether it’s fishing, heading to the lake, mudding, swimming, or just enjoying some fresh country air. Those simple moments together mean the world to us. Our daughter, Teigan, is full of energy and passion. She stays busy with cheer and tumbling, and we love cheering her on and watching her grow in confidence and strength.
I’ve been the Care Coordinator at Griswold Home Care of Mesquite for the past four years, and I truly wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve been in the caregiving industry for five years, and from the very beginning, I knew this was my calling. I first met Mike Gibson while working in an assisted living community, and that experience only strengthened what I already knew—caring for others is who I am.
I also have a deep love for animals and animal rescue, and I’m passionate about passing that love on to my daughter. Whether we’re casting a line in a quiet watering hole or running around outside with our pets, those moments are some of my favorites.
As a mom, my goal is simple but powerful—to raise Teigan to love herself, respect the world around her, and stay strong through whatever life brings. I believe in making the best of what you have and loving your people through it all.
Professionally, caring for seniors is my passion—my jam, as I like to say. At Griswold, we do more than provide care—we become an extension of your family. We love our clients unconditionally and are committed to giving them the support, dignity, and companionship they deserve.

Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in East Dallas, including Mesquite, Balch Springs, Desoto, Forney, Mansfield, Terrell, and their surrounding neighborhoods. You’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
