Meet Your Team
Christopher “Hope” Hopes
Regional Director / Owner
Call me Hope. Yes, this is my real name. I am privileged to be the Director of Griswold Home Care for Howard County, Maryland. I live in Howard County with my wife and our growing daughter. We love this community.
Growing up as a Social Worker's son, service to others has been my lifelong foundation. I was honored to earn a commission in the US Army, retiring after 27 years of honorable service. While I achieved more than I ever imagined possible and served alongside exceptional teammates, my military career ended due to numerous combat service-related disabilities.
After my military service, I was eager to follow my passion for positively impacting others' lives. I joined Griswold Home Care after recognizing them as an industry leader in providing supportive in-home care for older adults and people with living with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Through this work, I help make life more dignified for those struggling with daily activities that many of us may take for granted. Alleviating the suffering of others is what makes my job both personally and professionally fulfilling.
I remain personally involved in each Family's care to ensure we meet the highest standards. Our focus is entirely on better outcomes for your family and strengthening our community. We have an exceptional team of Professional Caregivers and Care Coordinators ready to help your family navigate challenging times. We are a proud Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.
Vicki Marenka
Director (Carroll County)
Hi everyone, I'm Vicki Marenka, and I’m honored to serve as the Director of Griswold Home Care for Carroll County. I’m also a proud mother of four amazing kids. Before being promoted to Director, I had the privilege of serving Griswold families as a Care Service Manager, Operations Director, and Assistant Director in Howard County.
Prior to joining Griswold, I spent 22 years in Case Management and Direct Support, where I had the opportunity to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Throughout my career, my goal has always been to help people live their best, most independent, person-centered lives.
My connection to this work is also deeply personal. Many years ago, my family and I opened our home as a Shared Living Provider for the very first individual I worked with in the field. Over time, he truly became part of our family. Welcoming him into our home felt like the natural and honorable thing to do. We wanted to continue providing the same love, stability, and opportunities he had always known.
Joining Griswold Home Care has allowed me to continue doing what I’m most passionate about—helping people live fulfilling lives in the place where they feel safest and most loved: their own home. I’m grateful every day to be part of a team that shares that same commitment to compassionate care and dignity.
Jeron Ford
Recruiting & Retention Manager
Hi everyone, I'm Jeron, a proud Maryland native and dedicated father of two boys, I've learned that the most meaningful work connects hearts with purpose.
My journey began with 22 years of U.S. Navy service (CPO, USN, Ret), including aviation experience and 15 years as a Navy Recruiter. Whether recruiting brave souls for nuclear submarines or connecting families with compassionate Care Professional, I've always been in the business of matching extraordinary people with extraordinary missions.
I've found my calling at Griswold Home Care. The transition from submarines to living rooms might seem unexpected, but the heart remains unchanged—I'm still connecting people with purpose.
What moves me most is witnessing the ripple effect of compassion. Every Care Professional I place becomes part of a family's story during their most vulnerable moments. They're the gentle hands that help maintain dignity, the patient voice that brings comfort, the skilled professional who keeps families together.
This work fills my soul in ways I never expected. When I see relief in a family's eyes or watch a Care Professional light up because they've found work that truly matters, I know I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be.
Jennifer Ensor
Family Care Manager (Carroll & Howard Counties)
Hi there! I'm Jenn.
Being a Mother to four amazing children has taught me what really matters in life—family. It's the reason I wake up every morning, and honestly, it's what brought me to Griswold in the first place.
Here's what I know from my own life: when someone you love needs care, you want to know they're in good hands. You want to feel heard, understood, and supported. That's not just business to me—it's personal.
I've spent years in health and human services, working alongside families during some of their most challenging moments. I've celebrated their victories and sat with them through the tough decisions. Every family has taught me something precious about resilience, love, and what it means to truly care.
Now, I get to bring all of that experience to you and your family. I understand that the person needing care isn't just a client; they're someone's parent, grandparent, spouse, or dear friend. They're someone who matters deeply. I chose to be a part of the team at Griswold because they “get it”.
Destiny Childs
Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN, FNP-C)
Hi, I'm Destiny! I'm a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and I've had the privilege of caring for families across many settings over the past 5 years—from critical care and pediatrics to school health and beyond. I'm excited to be your Griswold Home Care Nurse.
I'm deeply committed to community-based care because I believe healthcare should be accessible, personal, and rooted in the needs of the people I serve. I'm so excited to bring this passion to Griswold Home Care and to be part of a team that truly values compassionate, home-centered care. Whether you're managing a chronic condition, or navigating something new, my goal is to listen, understand what matters to you, and partner with you on your health journey. I'm passionate about preventive care, building strong connections within our community, and helping you feel your best—not just today, but for years to come.
I look forward to meeting you and being part of your care team!
In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Griswold Home Care for Howard County is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
