We hope you had a great holiday season, spending time with family and loved ones.

Home Care After the Holidays

Every January, many home care providers notice an increase in requests for in-home assistance. This surge typically follows family visits during the holiday season, where relatives recognize that their older loved ones may require help to stay safe at home. Often, what might seem like normal aging signs can actually indicate a need for support.

Families often find themselves uncertain about the level of care their senior relatives or friends truly need. At Griswold Home Care for Greensboro, we provide a variety of customizable care options designed to meet your specific needs.

What Does Griswold Do?

Companionship

Interacting with others on a regular basis helps improve cognitive function, reduce stress, and create a sense of belonging. Our Caregivers can help with things such as shopping and errand assistance, writing and sending cares, supporting hobbies and interests, and attending social events with you or your loved one.

Some local events are held at one of Greensboro’s fantastic senior centers. These centers host many different programs throughout the year from classes, social events, clubs, games, exercise programs, field trips, meals, and more.

Personal Care

As our loved ones age, they will likely experience a natural decline in mobility. This may also be caused by disabilities, illnesses, or injuries. Either way, their quality of life diminishes when they are unable to attend to their personal care. Being able to complete a lot of these ADLs can be the difference between remaining at home or moving into a facility. A Griswold Caregiver can assist with essential personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, skin care, feeding, and more.

Homemaking

We know how important staying in your home can be for Greensboro citizens. You want to stay where you love as you age, recover from injuries, or manage illness. There may be times when it becomes too hard to keep up with household chores. Griswold can step in and provide Caregivers who can be full-time or work for just a few hours a week. They can help with meal preparation and cooking, washing dishes, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathroom, laundry, making the bed, and more.

Additional Support

Our Caregivers can also provide support in other ways. We offer several specific care services including dementia care support, post-surgery support, hospice care support, neuromuscular care support, fall prevention, Veterans care, and 24/7 virtual monitoring. Our services are available for as little as a few hours a week up to 24-hour care for those who need assistance throughout the day and night.

Reach Out Today

If you’re living in Greensboro, High Point, or the surrounding area and noticed a loved one moving a little differently than before, give us a call. We’d be happy to chat about care options available to you. We will listen closely to understand your needs and develop a personalized care plan, just for you.
