Understanding Live-In Care

At Griswold Care Pairing for Chester and Lancaster Counties, we refer Caregivers who may offer several different care options. These options allow you or a loved one to age in the comfort of your own home.

Our referred Caregivers may provide many care services to seniors or anyone looking for In-Home Care. One of those services is Live-In Care.

What is Live-In Care?

Live-In Care offers your loved one assistance and attention in the environment they trust most. One of our referred Caregivers will live in the home. Often these arrangements result in healthy and meaningful friendships that can improve the client’s overall quality of life. It is perfect for someone who needs consistent and ongoing support.

Requirements include that the Caregiver be given adequate sleep and living quarters and have 6-8 hours off each day. Typically, if the client is awake, the Caregiver is working. Our referred Caregivers may provide:

• Personal Care – consisting of toileting, bathing, oral care, skin care, general hygiene, hair care, grooming, and dressing.
• Homemaking Care – such as running errands, meal planning and preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, organizing, plant care, and laundry.
• Companionship Care – including shopping and running errands, writing and sending cards, supporting hobbies and interests, and providing camaraderie at social events.

Live-In Care can be especially effective for those who need support due to certain conditions such as Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

What about Overnight Care, and 24-Hour Care?

Overnight Care is ideal when your loved one cannot be left alone overnight. One of our referred Caregivers can stay in their home while the client sleeps. Providing you with that peace of mind you’re looking for throughout the night. Our referred Caregiver may then assist with toileting, medication reminders, morning meal prep, and personal care to start your day.

Our third option for Live-In Care is 24-hour Care. With this Care, a team of referred Caregivers will work together, ensuring there is always an awake Caregiver at the home ready to assist if needed.
