Did you know that one in every four adults in the U.S. is a family caregiver?

National Family Caregiver Month, observed every November, honors and recognizes the contributions of family caregivers across the nation. This month is a time to acknowledge their efforts, highlight the everyday challenges they navigate, and advocate for more support. A key focus is preventing caregiver burnout and ensuring they have access to the help they need.

Family Caregiver Fast Facts

According to The National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP’s Caregiving in the US 2025 research report, 63 million Americans are caregivers, a 50% increase since 2015. • Family caregivers spend an average of 27 hours per week providing care, and nearly one in four provide 40 or more hours a week
  • Women make up about 61% of family caregivers
