Aging at Home with Confidence in Chester & Lancaster Counties
Category:
With most adults preferring to receive long-term care at home, the need for thoughtful, coordinated support has never been greater.
Nearly 70% of adults turning 65 today will need some form of long-term care in their remaining years, according to the Administration for Community Living.
At Griswold Care Pairing for Chester and Lancaster Counties, we are proud to highlight our long-standing relationship with Friends Life Care (FLC), a nonprofit Quaker-based organization. Like us, Friends Life Care shares a dedication to helping seniors age with independence and dignity. For over a decade, we’ve collaborated with FLC to provide its members with exceptional in-home care services. Our collaboration is built on shared values, mutual trust, and a commitment to delivering quality care.
Aging at Home with Confidence in Chester & Lancaster Counties
Friends Life Care is not a traditional insurance product or a facility. It’s a continuing care at home membership program that provides an affordable, personalized alternative to long-term care insurance. From day one of membership, individuals are assigned to a Care Coordinator who serves as a personal health advocate. They proactively guide wellness efforts and, when needed, arrange in-home care through their established provider network, including us.
What Friends Life Care Offers
FLC’s services are wide-ranging and built for those planning ahead. All plans are customizable:
- Personalized Care Coordination: Each member is assigned a Care Coordinator responsible for developing and managing a tailored care plan, using 12 standardized health assessments and ongoing wellness monitoring.
- In-Home Care: When members require in-home care, we at Griswold are called in to provide compassionate, credentialed, and referred Caregivers who align with their individual health goals.
- Retirement Life Planning: FLC’s life planning specialists support members in determining where they want to live, what resources they’ll need, and who will care for them.
- Home Safety Assessments: FLC provides expert evaluations of members’ homes with modification recommendations to support safe, independent living.
- Wellness Support: Workshops, preventive health education, and lifestyle planning help members avoid or delay the need for care.
Membership Requirements
FLC membership is available to adults aged 40-85 who are in reasonably good health and able to perform daily activities independently. Members must reside in Pennsylvania or Delaware. All membership plans are customizable based on care preferences and budget. Interested individuals can apply directly through the Friends Life Care website.
Quaker Values at Friends Life Care
They are rooted in Quaker values of community, compassion, and thoughtful care for the aging. With a tradition of developing practical, person-centered solutions, Quakers have long supported aging with dignity and independence. FLC continues that tradition, offering an option for individuals who want to remain at home as they age. Their model aligns closely with our values at Griswold, supporting seniors where they feel most comfortable: in their own homes.
