Meet Your Team
Jason DuBose
Director
Jason is the owner of Griswold Home Care for Sumter & Kershaw, a non-medical home care agency that celebrates, educates and advocates for the choice to remain independent at home. With an awareness of the increasing number of individuals turning 65 every day, and the great desire of most to remain in their home as they age, Jason has assembled a team of committed and caring individuals who provide companion and personal care services to seniors and adults with disabilities.
After a long & successful career in Human Resources, spanning diverse industries from Higher Education to Utilities Construction, Jason took on his greatest role in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. He became full-time teacher and companion for his son Mason who lives on the Autism Spectrum. Then in the post-pandemic chapter of his professional life, Jason worked with a wonderful start-up company in the Clean & Conscious Beauty industry as well as achieving the life-long dream of becoming a Volunteer Firefighter. Completing fire academy through a year of night & weekend classes was challenging, not least due to his age being well past the norm for a “rookie”, but he has been rewarded by feeling a profound impact in his life from helping others.
On a very personal level, Jason lived through his mother’s years long struggle with cancer before her passing and has also been very involved in his wife Tracy’s ongoing journey of care for her mother…who is aging-at-home. These experiences, coupled with numerous encounters with aged & disabled citizens in his fire department service, have given Jason a deep insight into the challenges people face making care decisions for those most important to them. He therefore views his agency’s work as a privilege to be delivered to clients with honor, respect and the highest standard of care.
Jane Richardson
Office Administrator
Jane Richardson serves as the Office Administrator for Griswold Home Care for Sumter and Kershaw, bringing with her more than 30 years of experience as a dedicated Paralegal and a lifelong commitment to serving others. After three decades in the legal field, Jane felt called to make a meaningful change—one that would allow her to pursue her passion for helping individuals and families in a more personal, hands-on way. At Griswold, Jane found like-minded individuals ready to embrace her in this career evolution.
Jane’s transition into home care was deeply inspired by her own family’s journey. After witnessing the exceptional dedication, compassion, and dignity that home care providers offered her father during his declining years, Jane knew she wanted to be part of delivering that same level of care to others. The kindness shown to her father left a lasting impression, and she is committed to honoring his memory by ensuring that other families receive the same comfort and peace of mind.
She believes strongly in the growing desire of seniors to remain in the comfort of their own homes rather than transition into assisted living facilities. For Jane, home is more than a place—it is security, familiarity, and a source of emotional strength. She is passionate about creating safe, nurturing, and supportive environments where seniors feel valued, respected, and cared for every single day.
In her role with Griswold Home Care for Sumter & Kershaw SC, Jane works behind the scenes, providing heartfelt support for both Caregivers and Clients. Her goal is to ensure that every client experiences dignity, compassion, and the warm reassurance that they matter—just as her father did.
With a heart for service, strong administrative expertise, and a personal "center" rooted in love and empathy, Jane Richardson is honored to support families and help brighten the lives of seniors throughout our area.

Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
