My wife, Sonia, and I are the proud owners of Griswold Home Care for Santa Rosa. I started my career in Education as a Lecturer in a college and have enjoyed a fulfilling career in technology for over 30 years. As a lecturer, I saw the immense impact a positive and nurturing environment had on the students and it was a source of great pride for me. This experience stuck with me, and I always had a desire to look for opportunities to engage more deeply and give back to the community in a more meaningful way.
As my parents aged and their health progressively declined, I saw a shift in my responsibilities and saw an increasing need for my involvement in taking care of their needs. With a strong desire to maintain their mobility, independence and dignity, the critical importance of In-Home care became clear to me. We came to understand and truly appreciate the value that caring and empathetic caregivers provided to families. As I understood the need for high-quality care and what compassionate care can do for care recipients, I was fortunate to partner with Griswold Care, who bring over 40 years of leadership and expertise in serving families with dedication and poise.

My husband Jaz and I have called Sonoma County our home for over 25 years. Both our sons were born here and have attended the local schools, and went on to enroll in top California Universities. It brings us great joy to see them flourish, with the older one working at a Hospital in Customer Care and Quality, while the younger one pursuing a Computer Science degree. We have been extremely grateful to belong to a truly unique and wonderful community which has a deep focus and commitment to families and its well-being.
I started my career in Education as a teacher in a High School while helping students achieve their maximum potential. Since moving to Northern California I have owned and operated a successful retail business for over 15 years, with a keen focus on quality, while fostering deep connections in the community. While owning a thriving business has been a source of immense pride there was a growing desire to form even deeper connections in the community with a strong desire to serve the community in a way that was thoughtful, and meaningful. It is now a source of great pride and joy for my husband Jaz and me to partner with Griswold Care and provide personal, and impactful In-Home care to you and your loved ones.

Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.

Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
