February 13, 2026 – Medicaid Update 2026 presented by Brennen Boze, Attorney
Brennen will go over the financial qualifications for Medicaid in Texas and strategies to help families preserve assets while still qualifying for the program.
Biography – Brennen Boze is a partner at Bertsch & Boze Elder Law. He is a dedicated, empathetic attorney with a true passion for helping those in need. After more than ten years working as a litigator, Brennen turned his efforts toward assisting the elderly, disabled, and their families with securing necessary care, preserving their legacies, and ensuring peace of mind for the future. Brennen obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with honors, and received his J.D. from Baylor Law School, where he was awarded a Public Interest Summer Fellowship to pursue pro bono work. He has appeared in state and federal courts across Texas, representing everything from individuals in crisis to large corporations, and brings over a decade of experience to Bertsch & Boze Elder Law, PC.. Brennen is the Chair of the San Antonio Bar Association’s Probate, Guardianship and Estate Planning Section and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has been elected a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the Texas Bar College. He regularly gives presentations to local organizations on the topics of estate planning, probate, and long-term care planning. Brennen and his family spend their free time exploring the city and surrounding hill country, sampling all the cultural and culinary experiences it has to offer.

2. Identify how these diverse concepts intersect to form unique dilemmas for cultural competence
3. Evaluate case studies for elements of diversity, ethics and applications of cultural competence.
Speaker Biography
Russell Gainer, LCSW-S has been a Board Approved Supervisor since 2002 and has provided both Clinical and Probationary Supervision services. A graduate of the UT Austin MSSW program, his work as a Field Practicum Supervisor, adjunct faculty at Our
Lady of the Lake and Incarnate Word Universities, Executive Director and manager, and small business owner, provides a wide
range of experiences from which to draw upon. Russell values creativity and depth in the Supervision practice and seeks to prepare
the Supervisee with the confidence to manage in the professional Social Work setting.
