At Griswold Home Care for North San Diego, we’re proud to offer monthly Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) workshops—free educational events designed for family care partners, fiduciaries, and case managers caring for a person living with brain change, mild cognitive impairment, or dementia (PLWD).

Led by our Director of Home Care Services and PAC Certified Independent Trainer, April Kohnen, these interactive workshops provide practical tools, insights, and techniques based on the internationally respected work of dementia care expert Teepa Snow.

Each session explores a different topic rooted in PAC’s evidence-based core philosophy and skills, such as:

  • Communicating more effectively using the Positive Physical Approach™
  • Understanding changes in the brain and how they impact behavior
  • Identifying retained abilities and how to support them
  • Recognizing and adapting to sensory and perception changes

Whether you’re a family member navigating daily care or a professional guiding others through transitions, these workshops offer a compassionate, practical lens to improve connection and reduce stress.

Workshops are offered monthly and open to the public at no cost. Optional donations are welcome and will benefit The Jean Griswold Foundation and the Snow Approach Foundation, Inc.—both 501(c)(3) nonprofits supporting caregiver education.
