Caregiver Mental Health Support for Lower Eastern Shore

Your Mental Health Matters
According to MyHealthfinder, about 1 in 4 Caregivers spend over 20 hours per week caring for a loved one. That’s over 1,000 hours every year! While incredibly important and rewarding, these roles can be time-consuming and stressful. Due to this, it is not uncommon for Caregivers to experience stress and burnout, which can lead to mental and physical illnesses.
Signs & Symptoms
Some symptoms that might be a sign that a Caregiver is struggling include:
- Anxiety and depression
- Changes in appetite
- Exhaustion and fatigue
- Lack of interest in hobbies and/or loved ones
- Sleeping troubles and insomnia
Caregiver Wellness
Since stress from caregiving can contribute to these symptoms, and mental and physical health are interconnected, it’s important to prioritize wellness.
