Discreet technology that provides peace of mind.

We’re excited to introduce you to Lifeguard! We’ve partnered with them to bring an added layer of support and visibility to our Clients. If you’re looking for an extra set of eyes on your aging parent or loved one, Lifeguard might be right for you.

Who Is Lifeguard?

Lifeguard is a passive system that provides insight into an individual’s daily patterns and routines. There are no cameras, microphones, or wearable devices involved. You won’t need to manage any devices or change up your routine. This is a Wi-Fi-based system that recognizes patterns of activity in the home. Lifeguard cannot replace the Care Professionals on your care team. Instead, it provides an extra layer of support between Caregiver visits. This is an excellent way to improve continuity of care.

Real humans review all information and insights from the Lifeguard system at the 24/7 Lifeguard Alert Center. If there is something unusual going on, such as a long period of inactivity, they’ll reach out via phone call. If they can’t get in contact with the home’s resident or care team, they’ll reach out to emergency contacts. Otherwise, the system runs quietly in the background.

Each Lifeguard system consists of these components:

  • 1 bathroom humidity sensor
  • 4 Wi-Fi motion sensors
  • 1 connection hub
  • 1 fridge sensor with 2 door sensors

The system generates wellness summaries that highlight trends and changes. With these insights, we can intervene early and tailor support to changing needs. You’ll receive recommendations and insights based on activity patterns, sleep habits, nutrition, and daily routines.

Lifeguard FAQs

No, Lifeguard does not use cameras or microphones. It does not record video or audio. Also, there is no one watching or listening through the system.

Who can see information coming from the Lifeguard system?

Our team here at Griswold will have access to insights from Lifeguard. Lifeguard’s care team will have access to the data as well. Rest assured that Lifeguard follows strict privacy and security standards to protect this information.

What happens when the system picks up that something is wrong?

If the system detects something unusual, the team over at Lifeguard will review the information right away. Don’t worry about getting too many alerts, though – team members at the Lifeguard Alert Center will review all alerts before reaching out.

Does Lifeguard detect falls?

No, Lifeguard is not able to detect falls. It can detect if there is a lot of movement or a lack of movement. But it does not directly detect falls.
