Find support in the Valley.

At Griswold, we’re proud to provide Caregivers to clients of varying needs throughout Lehigh Valley, PA. We feel lucky to work alongside organizations that also strive to improve the safety and well-being of our senior community members.

One of these organizations that we’re excited to introduce is Ennoble Care! They work hard to improve the quality of life for palliative and hospice patients. We work with them to provide Care Professionals who support their patients’ dignity and well-being. In our latest blog post, learn about Ennoble Care’s services and what sets them apart.

Who Is Ennoble Care?

Ennoble Care is a provider of senior primary care, palliative care, and hospice care. They treat a variety of conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, strokes, multiple sclerosis (MS), depression, diabetes, dementia, and more. Some of the services they offer include:

  • Advance care planning
  • House calls
  • Behavioral health services
  • Chronic care management

Their team brings primary care directly to patients’ homes. They can also provide care in senior residency communities and long-term care facilities. They conduct regular visits to perform comprehensive personalized medical services, including routine check-ups, disease and medication management, physical exams, lab work, vaccinations, and more. They also offer the option to conduct primary healthcare visits via virtual telemedicine consultations.

What is Palliative Care?

Ennoble has a palliative care program whose specialized medical care can relieve pain, stress, and other symptoms of serious illness and disease. Their comfort and relief can improve the quality of life for those with serious illnesses like Parkinson’s, MS, and depression.

Palliative care is provided based on needs, not prognosis. Patients of all ages at varying stages of illness may benefit from symptom management and support in coping with uncomfortable conditions. Also, palliative care can be provided alongside curative treatments. Ennoble understands that each patient is different, so they assess needs and preferences during their consultations. Follow-up visits are then scheduled to evaluate progress.

What is Hospice Care?

Hospice care at Ennoble is designed to keep those facing terminal illness as comfortable and serene as possible. Hospice is a medical care model that aims to manage symptoms while supporting a patient’s quality of life. This type of care is designed for patients expected to live six months or less.

Hospice care is commonly provided in the patient’s home, where they are most comfortable. A hospice team can address the patient’s medical, physical, spiritual, and psychological needs. Hospice can also support family members, family caregivers, and loved ones with bereavement care. Hospice does not replace around-the-clock bedside care or other care services normally performed by a caregiver. Also, hospice care does not exist to make the process of death faster. Its purpose is to provide comfort to patients and their families at the end of life.

Some families may consider starting hospice when their loved one’s status declines significantly, even after medical treatment. This can apply to those in the end stages of dementias like Alzheimer’s. Hospice services may include:

  • Visits from a hospice physician, nurse, medical social worker, home health aide, or spiritual counselor.
  • Medication management to control symptoms.
  • Short-term inpatient care if symptoms cannot be managed at home.
  • Medical equipment.
  • Grief and loss support.
