Hello! I’m Wadud Bhuiya, Director of Griswold Home Care for La Jolla. Before starting this business, I led teams in the biotech industry where we developed technologies that improve quality of life. Although my career was highly rewarding and successful, everything changed when my mother battled with dementia. Caring for her opened my eyes to the challenges families face when a loved one needs care. We unfortunately lost my mom in 2024, and I decided to honor her by serving high quality care to my local La Jolla community. With Griswold, you have a trusted name in the home care industry who has been helping people all over the country for over 40 years.
When I moved to San Diego from the East Coast with my two daughters, we quickly fell in love with this vibrant, welcoming community. At Griswold Home Care for La Jolla, we go beyond simply providing non-medical home care. We’re here to offer peace of mind. We support families with a wide range of services like personal care, homemaking, and companionship, so that your loved ones can age with dignity, independence, and comfort. We are here to build a supportive community resource for members of our community. We are more than just a care provider—we’re also a trusted referral source and partner in aging well.
I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, reading books, and spending time outdoors. Staying active helps me stay grounded and ready to serve our community with the dedication it deserves. It’s my privilege to lead a team of compassionate and experienced Caregivers dedicated to delivering the same level of care I once wished for my own mother. Together, let’s build a stronger circle of care—one that values dignity, empathy, and the simple joy of living well at home.

Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.

Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
