Meet Your Team
Keeya Gillard
Co-Owner
My name is Keeya Gillard. I’ve been married for 32 years and am a proud mom to a 30-year-old son with autism and epilepsy. My journey as a caregiver—both for him and for my grandmother, who had a stroke in 2022 and can no longer speak—has shaped who I am and what I’m passionate about. I’m a strong advocate for both of them, and for others who need a voice.
I spent 15 years working as a dental hygienist, then my husband and I owned a Firehouse Subs franchise for several years. After selling the business and briefly retiring, I realized I wasn’t done working—I just needed work with real purpose.
That’s why I opened Griswold Home Care for Greater Beaumont. I believe deeply that people deserve to live safely, independently, and with dignity in the comfort of their own homes. Helping individuals stay in the place they love most is at the heart of everything I do.
I’ve also worked in assistive technology, helping people with disabilities find ways to communicate and express themselves. Giving people a voice—literally and figuratively—is something I care deeply about.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me golfing, reading, traveling, or spending time with my family and friends. My life is rooted in love, service, and the belief that everyone deserves care, respect, and the chance to live life on their own terms.
James Gillard
Co-Owner
My name is James Gillard, and I’ve lived in Southeast Texas my entire life. For over 32 years, I’ve proudly worked at the fire department, where I currently work as an engineer. I love what I do and take great pride in helping people and serving my community.
I’ve been married to my wife Keeya, for 32 years. Together, we have a 30-year old son who lives with autism and epilepsy. Being his father is one of the greatest gifts of my life. I’m deeply involved as his caregiver and advocate, and I’m passionate about supporting awareness and inclusion for individuals with disabilities.
Outside the fire department, I’ve pursued several business ventures. I’ve owned a Firehouse Subs franchise, a home inspection company, and an industrial safety business. I enjoy building and growing businesses that make a difference.
Now, I’m excited about my next adventure-working with Griswold Home Care for Greater Beaumont. I’m proud to be a part of a team that helps people live independently and comfortably in their own homes with the support they need. Helping others live with dignity and safety is something I truly care about.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, playing golf, and hanging out with our rescue dog, Lyra. I try to live each day with purpose, humor, and heart- and I’m always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.
Lyra
Emotional Support Coordinator
Hi, I’m Lyra!
I joined my family in February 2025, and I’ve been their security dog and proud mascot ever since. I love people, snacks, cuddles, and going for rides in the car—windows down, ears flapping! One of the most important things I do is visit my grandma regularly. She had a stroke, and I like to bring her some tail wags, love, and comfort. Whether I’m on patrol or snuggled up with my humans, I’m always where I’m needed most.
In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
