By the age of 70, 1 out of every 5 Americans will have developed skin cancer.

Most cases of skin cancer are caused by sun damage over time. Since seniors have lived longer, they have had more sun exposure than the younger population. Most cases are found in people older than 65, and the likelihood continues to increase with age.
